ServiceNow CMDB / CSDM Advisory Consultant - Location: Antwerp region, Belgium

Project Context

For one of our clients in the Antwerp region, we are looking for a ServiceNow CMDB / CSDM Advisory Consultant to join an ongoing ServiceNow implementation project.

The consultant will play a key advisory role in assessing configuration change requests, evaluating their impact on the existing ServiceNow environment, and ensuring alignment with architectural best practices.

This role requires a strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, especially around CMDB, CSDM, and Discovery, combined with the ability to advise stakeholders on the functional and technical consequences of proposed changes.

Role Overview

As a ServiceNow CMDB / CSDM Advisory Consultant, you will act as a trusted advisor for all changes impacting the platform configuration related to CMDB, service modeling, and Discovery. You will support the client in making informed decisions by analyzing how requested modifications may affect the existing setup, data quality, integrations, and overall platform stability.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and platform owners to ensure that all changes are assessed properly and implemented in line with ServiceNow best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise the customer on requested changes to the ServiceNow configuration, with a focus on CMDB, CSDM, and Discovery
• Analyze the impact of proposed changes on the current platform configuration, data model, integrations, and operational processes
• Ensure that configuration changes are aligned with the overall ServiceNow architecture and governance model
• Review and challenge proposed solutions from both a functional and technical perspective
• Support the definition and maintenance of a robust and scalable CMDB structure
• Provide guidance on CSDM alignment, service mapping principles, and relationships between business services, technical services, and infrastructure components
• Assess and advise on the setup, optimization, and implications of Discovery configurations
• Identify risks related to data consistency, platform performance, maintainability, and downstream dependencies
• Collaborate with implementation teams, architects, and stakeholders to define the best approach for changes
• Document impact assessments, recommendations, and architectural decisions
• Promote best practices related to ServiceNow configuration management and platform evolution

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in ServiceNow implementation projects
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture
• Solid understanding of:
• CMDB
• CSDM
• Discovery
• Experience in analyzing the impact of configuration changes within a ServiceNow environment
• Ability to advise clients and stakeholders on both business implications and technical consequences
• Good understanding of dependencies between configurations, data models, integrations, and operational processes
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders in an advisory or consulting role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Language Requirements

• Dutch: Native level
• English: Minimum B2-C1 level

Preferred Profile

• Experience in advisory roles within complex ServiceNow environments
• Strong understanding of governance and best practices related to CMDB and service data management
• Experience with impact analysis in enterprise environments
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with client teams and project stakeholders
